Step 1: Measure Coffee & Water

  1. Coffee-to-water ratio: 1:15 to 1:17 (e.g., 20g coffee to 300g water).
  2. Grind just before brewing to preserve freshness.

Step 2: Heat Water

  1. Ideal temperature: 195°F–205°F (90°C–96°C).
  2. Boil water, then let it cool slightly if not using a temperature-controlled kettle.

Step 3: Prepare Filter & Rinse

  1. Place a paper filter in the dripper.
  2. Rinse with hot water to remove paper taste and preheat the brewer/carafe.
  3. Discard rinse water.
